Dr. Liz Smith is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who has been providing therapy to clients for six years. She has experience with providing therapy for a range of presenting concerns, including anxiety, depression, and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Dr. Smith also spent three years working with military veterans and their families at the VA. She has particular expertise in treating severe mental health conditions, including schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders.
In her practice, Dr. Smith combines a foundation of evidence-based interventions with a strength-based approach in order to help her clients realize the best version of themselves. She utilizes Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy as they best fit the needs and preferences of her clients. Dr. Smith is a certified provider of Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD. Dr. Smith received her doctorate at Indiana State University and is a graduate of the Psychology Postdoctoral Residency at the VA San Diego Healthcare System/UC San Diego.
