And yay, you made it here! Thank you for considering joining our team at Freedom Within! We hire on a rolling basis when positions become available, and are currently accepting applications for the following positions:

  • Licensed and Associate Therapists (ASW, AMFT, APCC, LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, and Psychologists)
  • Administrative Position

Who We Are:

We are a group private practice providing psychotherapy to adults in California! Our team is made up of therapists, administrative staff, and leadership team members. Our admin team and leadership staff work primarily in person at our office in San Diego.

We have a preference for local San Diego-area therapists who can work in-office and see clients in person, but we provide hybrid and remote options as well! For our therapist positions, we welcome licensed therapists to apply, as well as Associates with at least one year post-graduate work experience. Supervision is provided for Associates to help you develop professionally and gain experience within a supportive team. Clinicians must be licensed/registered in the state of California. We accept the following California license and registration types: PhD, PsyD, LCSW, LPCC, LMFT, ASW, AMFT, and APCC. We are located at 2254 San Diego Ave. which is in Old Town (San Diego, CA). Our Mission:

Our mission is to provide quality care using a genuine, down to earth approach that incorporates compassion, humor, and authenticity. We strive to partner with our clients to help release their pain and restore their sense of freedom within. We are looking for therapists who also embody this mission.

What We Do:

We provide individual and couples therapy to adults. A large number of our clients are active duty military, Veterans, and young professionals. Our practice focuses on treating PTSD, trauma, anxiety, relationship concerns, perinatal/postpartum, and transitional issues. You are not limited to working with these populations. However, most of the clients who are referred to Freedom Within come in facing these challenges. In addition, we have opportunities to run groups for most types of clients. Our core values are Connection, Humor, Authenticity, Respect, Growth and Excellence, we emulate these values in our work with one another as well as our work with our clients. Honesty, genuineness, humility, compassion and humor and important characteristics of our team members!
Additionally, we strive for our own growth and development as therapists through continuing education, case consultations, and bi-monthly DEI work groups. Some of our most recent trainings have included Cognitive Processing Therapy with a Certified CPT consultant, EMDR, and Gottman training for couples therapists. *Please note that we do not serve any clients under 18. If this is a population you are hoping to work with, we will not be a good fit.
We love to have fun, collaborate as professionals, engage in events outside of the office to connect as a team, fill our break room with snacks, and just enjoy being awesome, down-to-earth people. We offer flexible scheduling options, whether fully in-office, fully remote, or hybrid, to support the needs of our therapists. We value work-life balance and aim to provide a supportive environment for all, including working parents and those with varying commitments.
