Meet the Dietitian!
Hi! I am Berit Young and I am a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist. I have been providing nutrition counseling for the last 11 years. I enjoy working with adults on helping them find a sustainable lifestyle change while also reaching their goals.
I have experience working with individuals who want to lose weight, decrease their cholesterol, blood pressure, blood sugar, and get stronger. I also have a driving passion to help individuals find a healthy relationship with food. Eating should be a part of life that energizes you, and help you live the life you love.
How Can I Help You?
I know that there is a lot of confusing information out there about health, nutrition and specific diets. I am here to help you debunk all the myths and false narratives about food, and what YOU need to eat to thrive. I want to be your one stop shop for all nutrition information.
I work a lot with my clients on finding a way of eating that feels very sustainable and balanced. Once we work together, and work through a dietary pattern that works for you, I want it to feel like you could eat that way for the rest of your life. I also believe that healing your relationship with food is quite empowering. I want to show you that food can add such value to your life and health, without feeling restrictive.
My Philosophy on Nutrition:
I believe every person deserves to have a healthy relationship with food. I have found that how we nourish ourselves is directly related to how we treat ourselves. The food we choose directly impacts the rest of our physical, emotional, and mental health. I am passionate about helping you find a “healthy” place with your relationship with food, and witness how it trickles down to every other aspect of your life.
Taking care of yourself it not just about therapy – it’s also equally about what you choose to put in your body every day. The food we eat is correlated to not only our physical health, but our mental health as well. You only have this one body – it’s important to take care of it as best you can! I want you to feel empowered and confident when it comes to how you choose to nourish yourself every day.
