Grief & Loss Group Sessions
Grief is a process that all people will go through as a result of the death of an important person in their lives. While grief is universal, it can often feel extremely isolating– as if you are the only person who is going through the depths of painful loss. Connecting with others who “get it” can provide a healing experience, reminding you that you are not alone.
Where: 2254 San Diego Ave San Diego, CA 92110
What: Utilizing the Judi’s House/JAG Institute Pathfinders curriculum participants will connect in a therapeutic group with others grieving a death loss for 1 hour sessions over the course of 10 consecutive weeks. Attending the entire program is highly recommended to receive maximum benefit.
Who: Any adult grieving the death of a person of any age. Grief is unique and timeless, therefore time since the date of death will not be a factor. To allow for increased trust and vulnerability, the group will have the same members from start to completion.
Group Goal:
To find connection and healing through adequate support and shared experiences.
What we will cover:
- Understand and accept the reality of the death
- Experience the complex emotions, cognitions, and physical reactions of grief

- Address difficult or complicated aspects of the relationship, the death, or the grieving process
- Redefine the relationship to one of emotional connections, memories, and memorializing
- Re-engage in life, relationships, and activities
- Prepare for coping with challenges and painful waves of grief ahead
- Stay on track to continue growing, living, and loving
