How Can I Help You?
My approach to therapy is person-centered, trauma-informed, compassionate, and collaborative. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), while tailoring treatment to each client’s unique needs, goals, and experiences.
I believe therapy is not about fitting you into a specific approach. Instead, it is about meeting you where you are and working together to find what feels most helpful for you. I approach each session with curiosity, openness, and compassion, and I value creating a space where you can be your authentic self without fear of judgment.
You are the expert on your own life. While I may bring clinical knowledge and tools into our work together, I also learn from you. My role is to walk alongside you, help you better understand yourself, develop skills to navigate life’s challenges, and support you in moving toward the life you want.
My Philosophy on Mental Health
I believe you are not your symptoms, diagnosis, or challenges. Sometimes, we simply need support as we navigate life events that may feel unfamiliar, difficult, or overwhelming.
My own cultural background has taught me that there is no single way to understand mental health, emotion, or healing. I strive to approach each client with cultural humility, never assuming I know their story, but instead creating a collaborative space where their culture, identity, family, values, and lived experiences are honored. I recognize that these factors, along with inter-generational experiences and systemic influences, can shape how we understand ourselves and our mental health.
I believe healing is not linear, and therapy can be a space to develop greater self-understanding, self-compassion, and confidence along the way. There may be progress, setbacks, growth, and moments when you feel like you are starting over, and all of that can be part of the process. My hope is to help you feel seen, empowered, and connected to your authentic self while building a life that feels meaningful and true to you.
More About Me…
Outside of therapy, I am very family-oriented and love spending quality time with my husband and family. I also enjoy taking walks as a way to slow down, recharge, and practice self-care.
One of my favorite things to do with my husband is go to the movie theater and watch a new movie together. Whether it’s something we’ve been looking forward to seeing or a movie we know nothing about beforehand, I always enjoy the experience!
Fun Fact!
I am a VERY proud San Diegan, born and raised! I’m also a huge movie theater lover, you can usually find me at the movies at least once a week with my husband.
